SEC Chair Reviews Impact of Recent Legal Developments on the Commission and Highlights Its Approach to Data Analytics

SEC Chair Jay Clayton addressed the agency’s federal and state partners on important issues affecting the SEC at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference. In his keynote remarks, Clayton discussed several recent court decisions and their specific impact on the SEC’s work and practices. In addition, Clayton reviewed the SEC’s use of data analytics in support of its mission and outlined a number of tools used by the SEC Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations and the Division of Enforcement to collect and analyze data.
